Overnight Care at Home

For many families the nights are the hardest part. The worry about what happens after dark. Whether your loved one can get to the bathroom safely. Whether they will wake confused and alone.

Whether they are simply frightened in a way they would never admit. Overnight care means a professional carer is there through the night — in your loved one's own home, in their own bed, in the surroundings they know.

Someone familiar. Someone they trust.

What is Overnight Care?

Two Types of Overnight Care

At Neeryville Care we provide two types of overnight care depending on your loved one's needs.

Sleep-in care:

Sleeping Night Care — from £180 per night a carer stays overnight in your loved one's home and sleeps there. They are available and on hand throughout the night if needed. This is the right option for loved ones who feel anxious or unsafe alone at night but do not need constant support.

Waking night care:

Waking Night Care — from £240 per night a carer remains awake throughout the night providing continuous active support. This is the right option for loved ones who need regular help during the night  with medication, mobility, personal care, dementia monitoring or simply the reassurance of someone consistently present.

What Overnight Care Includes

Every overnight care arrangement is personalised. Depending on your loved one's needs overnight care can include:

  • Help getting ready for bed and settling for the night.

  • Medication prompts and management throughout the night.

  • Assistance getting to and from the bathroom.

  • Repositioning support for those with mobility difficulties.

  • Dementia monitoring — preventing wandering and providing calm reassurance if your loved one wakes confused.

  • Help getting up and ready in the morning.

  • Companionship for those who find the nights lonely or frightening

WHO IT IS RIGHT FOR

Who Is Overnight Care Right For?

Overnight care is right for your loved one if they need support or reassurance during the night but want to remain living at home.

It is particularly suitable for:

  • People living with dementia who may become confused or distressed at night.

  • People recovering from surgery or illness who need monitoring during the early stages of recovery.

  • People with mobility difficulties who need help getting to the bathroom safely.

  • People living alone who feel frightened or anxious at night.

  • Family carers who need to know someone is there and who need to sleep themselves.
