Safeguarding at NeeryVille Care : Verified, Named and Accountable

Every family that places a loved one in the care of a professional has one underlying question. Can we trust these people with someone we love?

This page exists to answer that question completely and transparently. Not with reassuring language. With verifiable facts, named professionals, confirmed legislation, downloadable policies and direct contact information for the person accountable for everything.

We do not ask families to take our word for anything. We give them the evidence to verify it themselves.

Who Is Accountable for Safeguarding at NeeryVille Care

Safeguarding at NeeryVille Care is not managed by a committee or delegated to a coordinator. There is one named professional with full lead responsibility. One person families can contact directly. One person accountable to the Care Quality Commission.

That person is Daniel Johnson, Registered Care Manager.

Daniel Johnson holds the registered manager designation with the Care Quality Commission for NeeryVille Care Ltd. He has over 12 years of direct clinical experience in home care and a specialist background in psychology and dementia care. He built NeeryVille Care's safeguarding framework personally, to current CQC standards, from the foundation of the organisation.

Daniel is contactable directly. Not through a call centre. Not through an administrator.

What CQC Registration Means for Families

NeeryVille Care Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission. This is not a lesser status than being rated. It is a confirmed threshold of regulatory compliance.

To register with the CQC a provider must demonstrate:

A named Registered Manager with confirmed qualifications and fitness to practice. A robust safeguarding policy aligned to CQC Regulation 13. A safe recruitment process including enhanced DBS checks for every carer. A clinical governance framework covering risk, incidents, complaints and duty of candour. Evidence of financial viability and operational competence. Confirmation that the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led before a single client is accepted.

NeeryVille Care met every one of these requirements to achieve registration. CQC Provider ID: 1-21254500455. CQC Location ID: 1-21974390349.

A provider that is registered and not yet rated has met the registration threshold and has not yet been subject to a scheduled inspection. A provider that is rated Outstanding or Good has met the same threshold and has subsequently been inspected. Both are CQC compliant. One has simply been operating longer.

Our Safeguarding Framework:  Policy Number CC2

NeeryVille Care operates a full written Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy, reference number CC2, reviewed and maintained by Daniel Johnson as Registered Care Manager.

The policy is aligned to the six safeguarding principles embedded in the Care Act 2014:

Empowerment. People are supported to make their own decisions with informed consent. Safeguarding is done with people, not to them.

Prevention. Every carer is vetted, DBS checked, trained and supervised before placement. The risk of harm is reduced before care begins.

Proportionality. Our response to any concern is proportionate to the level of risk. We do not take unnecessary or disproportionate action.

Protection. People are safe and supported throughout any safeguarding process.

Partnership. We work alongside local authorities, health professionals and the Care Quality Commission at every stage.

Accountability. Every concern is recorded, investigated and reported in accordance with confirmed procedures. Nothing is left undocumented.

The full policy is available to download below. Families, healthcare professionals, commissioners and local authority teams are encouraged to read it.

The Legislation Our Framework Is Built On

Our safeguarding framework complies with and references the following confirmed legislation:

The Care Act 2014. The primary legislation governing adult safeguarding in England. Places a duty on providers and local authorities to safeguard adults at risk and promote wellbeing.

CQC Regulation 13: Safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment. Providers must have robust procedures to protect adults from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, degrading treatment, unnecessary restraint and inappropriate limits on freedom.

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Establishes the framework preventing unsuitable people from working with vulnerable adults. Every NeeryVille carer is checked against the DBS barred list before placement.

The Mental Capacity Act 2005. Governs all decisions made on behalf of people who may lack capacity. Every NeeryVille carer is trained in mental capacity principles.

The Equality Act 2010. Protects people from discrimination in the delivery of care. Our care is delivered without discrimination on any grounds.

The Human Rights Act 1998. Enshrines the right to live free from abuse, degrading treatment and unlawful interference.

The Health and Social Care Act 2012. Sets out provider responsibilities for safe, effective and high quality regulated care.
